Our mission in the Dwell Well Collective is to help everyone to feel confident using their oils.

We truly believe they can and will change lives, but you have to get them out of the box and USE them!

THINK OF ESSENTIAL OILS AS SUPER HEROES THAT ARE HERE TO SERVE YOU!

Essential oils really are super heroes! Many will impact how we feel immediately, and many will totally transform how we live and our home over time.

The key to success? Be consistent! Remember, you don’t eat a salad one time and say “I don’t notice a difference in my wellness yet”. Consistency is everything!

Just like you know you should eat healthy foods but a plate of broccoli won’t necessarily undo the impact of the candy bar or soft drink you had for lunch, you can’t use oils expecting them to cure you of an unhealthy lifestyle or home still full of toxins.

You choose the broccoli or the oil because it sets your trajectory in a healthier direction. Plant-based choices are a way to support your body in what it wants to do. Your body wants to heal and keep you healthy, so each choice we make really has the power to support or derail those efforts.

This Fall in Love with Your Oils course will help you form SIX strong wellness habits that will transform your everyday life!

Throughout this course we will share specific ways you can incorporate oils into your day, how to get into the habits that can transform your life and teach you more about the benefits of learning these habits quickly!

We know establishing new habits can be tough, so first, here are 3 tips that are going to be so valuable as you get started!

Let’s do this, friends!

The first habit is simple, we call it “Use & Diffuse”!

We are going to actually USE the oils! Don’t leave them in their box! 

One of our favorite ways to use them on the daily is to diffuse them.

Diffusing essential oils is a powerful way to get the benefits of essential oils. Also our sense of smell is the most tied to our memories, so creating positive connections and feelings with scents can be very impactful for our emotional health.

Essential oils help to purify the air of toxins ? and many will make your home smell SO good without the chemicals. Your Young Living diffuser will break a mixture of essential oils and water into millions of micro particles and disperse them into the air, delivering incredible wellness benefits to you and your family 

Keep in mind that oils are made from PLANTS, not perfumes, so don’t expect them to smell like the synthetic (toxic) scents you might be used to. Many Young Living essential oils smell amazing, and some not so much. But used as directed they all offer wellness benefits, so you’ll want to use them all in the way they are intended.

Oils can help defend against unwanted guests in our bodies by boosting our bodies natural immune system and helping it to function as it should.

They also can positively affect emotions, accessing the limbic system through scent like nothing else in the world can. If you’re experiencing times of feeling anxious, wanting to focus, craving some calm, feeling sad, wanting to feel grounded, needing a dose of creativity or enthusiasm or motivation…anything!

Utilize your oils as directed in the diffuser or roll them on as part of your daily routine. Make them your “go to drops” for feeling great and staying above the wellness line, friends. They’re incredible.

An essential oil in a diffuser can soothe a child who has had a tough day at school, calm the kids (and you) before bedtime, or relax you after a long day at work. On the flip side, oils can be invigorating, uplifting, and energizing.

Once we got this wonderful kit, we started getting rid of a TON of toxins in our home. One of the worst offenders…products with fragrance. Fragrance gets absorbed into our skin or breathed through our lungs and goes directly into our bloodstream…which we do not want!

We used our oils to ditch the chemical filled fragrant sprays, we stopped burning candles (I know–it sounds painful if you’re a candle lover but burning candles can be so harmful for health!!) we stopped buying fragrance filled plug-ins or skin and cleaning products…all of that. Using and diffusing oils gives us peace of mind knowing that we’re making better choices and making home smell amazing while doing GOOD things for our body instead of compromising health!

Make it a habit to turn on your diffuser every morning while you get ready! We love diffusing blends that energize us or give us a boost of happy in the morning.

Make it a habit to turn on your diffuser every evening, too! The graphic above will give you some suggested evening diffuser recipes. One of the reasons we fell in love with our oils is the way they’ve helped us have better quality sleep. They help us relax and wind down for the night.

You’ll want to use oils more than once to determine their overall effectiveness. But if one oil doesn’t work for you, try another! Your body is unique, so let it tell you what it needs. You might use one sleep oil for awhile and then decide your body is ready to switch to another! Be a student of YOUR needs!

Healthy Habit Two: Be Well and Thrive!

Our goal in the Dwell Well Collective is to stay ABOVE the wellness line as much as possible. We want to strive toward living a healthy lifestyle, caring for our bodies through what we eat, drink, what we put on our skin, what we breathe in, our mindsets, etc. It’s all connected and so important!

Essential oils are just one of the ways we can support our bodies. They are incredible protectors, defenders and promoters of health. Wellness is their job, and they do it well.

Did you know essential oils are what naturally defend plants from disease? They are necessary for plants to grow, live, evolve, and adapt to their surroundings!

We need to give our body the support it needs to do what it is supposed to do! Our bodies respond and react positively and negatively to many things, including our environment. We all know that stress can cause havoc on our body. When you’re nervous or stressed out, you can actually feel the result in your gut.

So what can these amazing drops of “plant juice” do for us? Oh, SO many wonderful things.

Essential oils can actually support all of our body’s systems, including emotions and hormones, so it can begin to function at its best. Some essential oils can even cross the blood brain barrier, which is incredible for supporting ALL body systems – skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, nervous, respiratory, lymphatic, urinary, and reproductive body systems.

They oxygenate the cell, support the body’s natural detoxification processes, act as antioxidants, make cells more permeable, and defend against unwanted guests in our bodies.

While many Young Living oils can offer nearly immediate results for many daily needs, incorporating essential oils into your daily routines will support your overall health in the long run, too. Give them time to work their magic. They aren’t a bandaid or a drug. Like we said, we wouldn’t just add a red pepper to our salad and then wonder why it didn’t noticeably improve our overall health today.

The more we are exposed to these oils, the better! Each oil, just like every living thing, carries a scientifically measurable frequency. Essential oils have the capacity to raise your body frequency.

The more you are applying oils on yourself and family, the higher your body frequency and the potential for better overall health increases. Use them often for best results! The goal: stay ABOVE the wellness line!

But, we all feel a little under the weather sometimes. With oils, we have options. Don’t delay, run to your arsenal. Here are a few of our favorite simple wellness routines with your starter kit oils:

*Make an Immune Boost tea! * Add to a cup of hot tea:
– 1 drop Thieves Vitality Essential Oil
– 1 drop Lemon Vitality Essential Oil
– Raw honey or sweetener to taste

*Add a drop of Thieves vitality to your water*

*Put a drop of Thieves on the bottom of your feet*

*Make a wellness roller (see the next slide for a recipe)!*

*Diffuse Thieves in your diffuser (add Raven or RC for a refreshing addition, these two are great for breathing better!)

We love making rollers as a convenient way to use our oils!

This Everyday Wellness Roller would be a great one to make and add to your daily routine. Roll it on the bottom of your feet (and your kids’ feet!) every morning before you head out for the day.

Remember, our goal is to stay ABOVE the wellness line! Stay ahead of it! Don’t wait until you’re already under it. Be consistent  in your habits and you’ll see the results.

Healthy Habit Three: Cozy and Clean!

Most of us probably enjoy making our homes a cozy place to be, right? It’s important to realize that some of the things we may have been bringing into our homes are actually not good for our health! There’s nothing cozy about a sanctuary compromised by toxins.

“The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health studied 2983 ingredients in our products at home. Of that, they found 884 toxic ingredients. 314 of them caused biological mutations, 218 caused reproductive problems, 778 were toxic to the human body, 146 they knew caused cancer tumors but they were still allowed in the United States even though they were banned in other countries around the world. 376 caused eye and skin irritation. These chemicals are allowed in nearly every type of cleaning supply in the United States, even common things under your cabinets right now. Even organic cleaners have some known carcinogens that are just naturally derived. 26 seconds after exposure, chemicals are found in measurable amounts inside the human body. Favorite roller (Breathe Again, Stress Away, Thieves roller)

Lavender lip balm

Rollers are one of the easiest ways to use oils on the go.

HOW TO MAKE A ROLLER:

1. Add 10ish drops of essential oil (or oils) to a 10ml Glass Roller Bottle (we like these ones)

2. Fill rest of bottle with carrier oil of choice (jojoba oil, fractionated coconut oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, V6 from Young Living, etc).

3. Add the roller top and cap and shake a bit to mix, label bottle if you want, and you are ready to roll!

Habit Five is to invest in self care!

It’s important to be in the mindset of caring for yourself. Since incorporating oils into our days, we’ve found ourselves much more in tune with what we are needing. Things that we used to just consider “what we have to deal with”, now are things we can actually do something about. We are always listening to our bodies and what it’s telling us. Self care isn’t selfish! Take the time to do the things for you.

Take care of your skin!

– Add a drop of Frankincense and Copaiba to your neutral unscented moisturizer everyday. Amazing for supporting healthy, beautiful, smoother skin!

Take a bath!

Make these Lavender bath salts (one serving):

In a glass bowl (or large zip close bag), mix together 1/2 cup of epsom salt and 10 drops of lavender essential oil.
Add the bath salts to hot running water
Sit back and relax!

(Stress Away is another great option for relaxing bath salts! Or try Raven or RC bath salts when you feel like you need to take a nice deep breath).

Take care when stressed!

– When overwhelmed, reach for Stress Away or Lavender for calm. Frankincense for grounding.

– If you’re feeling occasional head tension, add a little coconut oil into your hand and add a drop of peppermint. Apply to temples or top of forehead (keep away from eyes, peppermint is strong!).

– PanAway provides a super cooling sensation when applied to the skin. Add PanAway to a carrier oil of choice, then apply to back of neck or spine, or to muscles after a workout.
