Here is where we get into some fun STRATEGY discussion! In this course we’re going to talk about strategic placement. That may sound intimidating, but once you understand it, it’s really exciting! How you structure your team is so important.

Strategic placement (sometimes referred to as stacking!) is what many people credit to their success in this business. We have an amazing opportunity in Young Living to “strategically place” our sign ups by giving them a new sponsor. Remember, you only need SIX legs to get to Royal Crown Diamond, so stacking can help you to rank faster so that everyone doesn’t stay on your frontline!

First, watch this video from two of our Dwell Well Collective members going over the basics of strategic placement:

How to strategically place a new member:

OPTION 1 – Live Chat:

You can move a member via Live Chat in your Virtual Office within the first 5 days from the member’s date of enrollment

OPTION 2 – Email:

Email resolutions@youngliving.com within 30 days enrollment days of enrollment. Email must come from the email that is connected to your YL account.

*You can change a member’s sponsor only 1 time.

*For the strategic placement to count for a calendar month, the email must be sent to resolutions by 11:59MST on the last day of the month.

Script for strategic placement:

FAQs and Best Practices

Who do I strategically place under?

That is up to you! Placement is mostly for your benefit and to structure your business. You do not owe anyone placements! We highly recommend only placing under someone who is committed to 1oopv per month (preferably someone who is interested in the business side of things)! That way they receive all their commissions and they will qualify as one of your legs. Ideally, you would place under someone who has interest in the business side, however, you need to do what is best for YOUR business! If you need a leg, you can approach anyone on your frontline about placements. Here is a script we like to use for someone who has not expressed interest in the business:

Hi INSERT NAME HERE,

I hope you are doing well! I have a quick question for you to ponder, and there is no obligation to take me up on this at all, but my Young Living business has been growing with new members. It’s been so great, but to structure my team I have to move new members somewhere within my organization. As I move new members, I like to help my faithful members to hopefully start paying for their Essential Rewards orders through commissions they might earn if they have people under them. So I occasionally “move” new members under existing members to help pay for their oil addiction ?

Of course, it is also a GREAT way to jump start a business if that’s something that would ever interest you, however there is no obligation when I move people, no fees, no selling or quotas at all with this. You aren’t signing up for anything new. This doesn’t mean you have to sell or sign people up or do this as a business, it is just a way for me to structure my downline and help you hopefully earn commissions!

In order to qualify for commissions you would just have to place 100PV orders each month. That’s it!

So, I’m just throwing it out to you and if you are interested in it, I’ll get you on my list!

xo,

What is the role of the new sponsor? Do I introduce them to their new placement?

Again, this is up to you and you think is best for your business. Different teams do it differently. Our suggestion is that you continue to take care of ALL your personally enrolled. They signed up with you after all! You don’t want to make them feel like you just used them for a sign up and then passed them along to someone else! It can also feel a little weird if they start getting regular communication from a stranger. We think introductions should be evaluated on a case by case basis. If they were super hesitant to get oils in the first place, maybe there is no need for a personal introduction (don’t get weird and make them feel uncomfortable!). Feel free to introduce them if they are super excited about oils and totally get how this whole business works. It’s a judgment thing, you know? If you don’t introduce someone and later they become interested in the business side of things, then would be a great time to introduce them! At that point you can explain that they have an awesome sponsor who can help them as they start to grow their team. It’s a great way to introduce the concept of strategic placement to them, too.

I’m afraid I will put someone in the wrong place!

Don’t overthink it. It can all even out in the end! Just pick the place that makes the most sense to you. Our only word of advice, you don’t get paid on anything under level 5 so don’t go too deep! Reach out to your leader if you need more specific advice!

Any tips for starting out?

Start by stacking under the first two members in your organization who are interested in the business (or willing to place 100pv orders). Ideally these are two people who are all in and you have asked to trust you into hoping on this amazing ride with you! We suggest grabbing a sister or a BFF, telling them that this opportunity is going to be life changing and running along with them to do this this! Then you can host classes together and place your sign ups underneath them.  But if you don’t have anyone willing to hustle alongside you, any person committed to 100pv will do. This will set you up to reach the first big rank of Executive!

When someone signs up with you, think about whether or not you think they would be a great or probable business leader. If the answer is likely no, MOVE THEM! If you are moving someone who may be a heavy enroller, maybe move them to a leg that is smaller or struggling!

Think about your business. What’s your next rank? What do you need to get there? Move your members where it makes sense for your business!

Remember, leaders strategically place to help build their organization. You might be placed under at some point because you happen to be in the leg she is currently building. There’s no guarantee she will continue to place under you long term, no does everyone get placed under.  The best strategy for all of us if we want to grow our business is to sign people up and find builders!
